Hello, Pat and Cindy! We wanted to thank you again for making our stay so wonderful in the Hideaway last week! We fell in love with the whole place. I took a million photographs and I am attaching some as a thank you for your warm hospitality. I wish we had had time to talk to you more than we did, but everyone was so busy! We were fascinated by the whole area and wanted to see everything!

I think I got some decent shots of the landscape along the water in front of the motel. It is such a gorgeous spot!

Sincerely,
Steve and Peggy Bach

Greetings Cindy, As promised, I've attached the photo of the Low Key tiki bar that I took over Memorial Day weekend. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I really hope to get back in the fall for a day or two of kayaking. Yes, I'll have margarita makings and, yes, I'll be looking forward to sticking my nose in some more of your great books.

Take care,
Susan Macken

Cindy & Pat,

You have a fantastic place for folks to relax and enjoy the world. Thank you for making it so laid back and unhurried. I really enjoyed my days sitting out on the dock, reading my books. Although because of the wonderful view, I didn't get as much reading done as I thought I would! I kept getting distracted by the fish and birds.

There was one thing that I forgot to do before we left. I had intended to look at the brand of mattress before we left. I have a bad back problem and I usually get up each morning with an aching back and have a hard time moving. That never happened during our week stay with you guys. Could you tell me what brand, etc that you have in room 4? It was the best mattress that I have slept on in a long time, including our expensive mattress that we bought just for my back!

Thanks again for letting us enjoy your place.

Hi Pat/Cindy,

This is late coming, but I just wanted to thank you again for the great time that we had when I, my wife and daughter, my dad, and my sister all stayed with you a few weeks back. The trip was the first trip for all of us together in I don't know how long, and when my dad first suggested Cedar Key, which a friend had recommended to him, the rest of us were not too keen on it (we had been thinking more along the lines of an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas). However, once I accepted that that's where we were going (since he was paying :), my habitual need to research things kicked in and I decided I would help find the best place to stay.

When I found the TripAdvisor entry for the Low-Key Hideaway, I was amazed - in all the reviews on that site I've ever read, that was the first time I didn't see a single negative review within the first 5 pages that I got through. After reading your site thoroughly, I knew that it was exactly the type of place that I would want to stay. The others were a bit hesitant since it didn't have a pool and wasn't right in town, but we decided to go for it, and we are all happy we did.

Hearing your stories, hanging out at the tiki bar ($2 beers?! I could live there just for those!) with the locals and the guests, and especially witnessing your generosity, both in spirit and in actions, were exactly what I had thought the experience might be and more. You went above and beyond with the Easter basket you gave to our daughter and letting her play with the baby chicks. Our only real regrets were that we didn't get to meet Cindy sooner, and that we missed out on the Tiki Bar our last three nights there (we had grown a little accustomed to it!).

Thank you again for everything. The trip was better than any of us could have imagined, in no small part to the two of you and the Low Key Hideaway. If you're ever in NYC, or, maybe in a few months, Toronto, look us up and I will buy you a beer (it probably won't cost $2). :)

Thanks,

Chris (and Michele and Audrey) Peterson

Pat's service at Low-Key Hideaway was top notch. We found this place on the website and decided to stay there new years eve 2009. The rooms were very clean, and service was on par with any other place I've visited.

As someone who loves nature and travel, their stories were great, and seeing all of their photo albums around the front office really made the trip and gave my girlfriend and I ideas of places we would like to visit ourselves

Hi Cindy & Pat,
I just wanted to let you know that we loved staying with you guys. Your hotel is so quaint and lovely. The furnishings in our room were so in-style and even a bit art deco - loved it. Loved watching the sunset outback.

I just wanted to let you know that I couldn't believe how helpful and caring you guys are. You...
1. Offered to let me use your own camera lens - which was such a shock - No Inn Keeper has done that before
2. Talked to your friends to find out where the white pelicans were roosting so I could see them
3. Even offered to take us out the following day on your boat to go find them (unfortunately Joe wanted to get back home early so he'd have time to rest before going to work - so we actually drove home that night. But happily, I got to see the white pelicans on Doug's boat tour earlier that day.) I'm going to attach my fav pic I took.

But just those examples, shocked me at how kind and gracious you both are. Thanks so much for your hospitality. You'll see us again. Loved being there!

Take care.
Truly,
Lisa & Joe Arcaro

Cindy and Pat-

Last weekend for four days, Roy and I had an absolutely fantastic time camping at your wonderful Low-Key Hideaway Resort. Your motel is a colorful sight to behold, and I love it. I love bright colors, so I was attracted to it immediately.

Our campsite was the best, and we loved that we were the only campers for two of our four nights. The weather couldn't have been better and we had sunny skies with a slight breeze all four days. It made our daily canoe outings, fishing, bike rides, and walks very nice. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking; how awesome to see such a sight from our campsite!!

Roy caught a large trout and some mullet which he blackened while I made some garlic cheese grits. We ate our feast sitting at your Hideaway Tiki Bar while watching the beautiful sunset. You both were wonderful hosts. I have been telling all my coworkers and others about your place and I have been handing out your brochures.

We loved your "resort." We look forward to our next visit which we have already booked for October. Thanks for a fabulous four days of fun. We wish you much success in your own little Cedar Key Hideaway.

Sincerely,

Linda Hill

PS: Below is a collage I made with some of our pictures of the fun we had at the Low-Key Hideaway.

This note was left for us after a weekends stay on 9-13-2010 - WOW!

Cindy & Pat -

Life had become to big to handle.  I ran away to the most amazing place, the "Low-Key Hideaway."

This is the perfect place to let the stress filled world melt away.  After moments of arriving and walking to the back yard, nature takes all the stress on her wings and it magically vanishes.

The most stressful part of staying here is - Do you sit out on the dock which is usually my morning ritual, doing Yoga on the dock is amazing.  The other choices are comfy chairs on the porch or the hammock over looking the water.

For the past 2 hours my location has been the porch swing.  The swing is perched on the waters edge with a wonderful roof to protect you from the mid-day sun.

This is a place where stillness does speak.  The wind speaks loudly through the palms and the banana trees.  The mud pops and cracks as the water recesses.  With each tide change, the marsh speaks in different tones and volumes.

Fish jumping as the sun is setting join in the symphony.  The water seems to boil with life, as does the sky.  The bald eagle circles above while the grey heron slowly moves along the emerged oyster islands waiting for his perfect time.

This is the perfect place to slow the pace of life. I am so grateful to have had this time.  I am also very grateful to Cindy and Pat who are the gracious owners.  They embraced me as if we were long lost friends and made sure all of my needs were taken care of.

Thank you both for a long over due weekend away.  I WILL BE BACK!

Hey! Just wanted to tell you again what a great time Tim and I had over the weekend. It was a truly memorable trip, albeit too short. I posted an absolutely glowing review on Trip Advisor!

I have attached a few pictures that I took of the sunset on Monday. I know--like you have never seen the sunset there, but they are pretty anyway. (Please don't be hatin', Pat--I know you were jealous of my badass camera!)

We can't wait to come back--hopefully in late October. Take care, keep up the great work and again--thanks for everything.

(PS I think I will keep your hilarious voicemail forever!)

Hi Cindy and Pat -

I've finally stopped long enough to write you two a quick thank-you. People make a trip special - the place is just the frosting on the cake. I have to admit the frosting is quite fine, but without you two and the other characters we met in Cedar Key (now Billy is one of them!), my trip would have been much less memorable and enjoyable. You two are fantastic as people and great to know. Thank you so much for sharing yourselves with us. I know Billy wouldn't have decided to stay for a month if it weren't for how comfortable you've made it for him. Not to mention the fact that you were instrumental in keeping him alive!

Anyway, much love - I think about you all daily and I've passed the website on to Billy's sisters and friends... Hi to John, too.

Merry Christmas!
Suzanne

PS. When you see Billy, give him a hug from me.

Cindy and Pat,

I stayed at your hotel Friday and Saturday night in the single room.

I was pleasantly surprised with the room, but I was most impressed with the hosts. You actually treat people as GUESTS and my stay could not have been better.

I will be happy recommending your hotel to my friends.

Best,

WHAT A GREAT time we had at the Low Key Hideaway. In fact.... the hospitality, the new friendships cultivated, the food, the setting.....it was ALL way too much to expect. Pat and Cindy are the best hosts to ever cross our paths. We hope to stay there again in 2011 and wish this couple the best of luck in this business venture.

My husband and myself will be staying there at the end of March 2010. We are looking forward to our peaceful getaway! I spoke with Cindy when making the reservation and she was very kind and hospitable. I really enjoyed looking at the picture gallery of Low Key Hideaway, but I would love to see more pictures of each of the rooms. The pictures I have seen of the rooms and the amenities are so very nice!

Hi guys....just wanted you to know that trip advisor tells me that 100 people have read my review of your place. so keep up the good work, apparently you've caught the attention of quite a few people.

Pat and Cindy,

You are the best resort operators I have ever encountered. Jim and I loved the wonderful setting, the clean and home-like accommodations and of course, your company. It was evident that the other guests felt very comfortable there as well. It was almost like a reunion of old friends. You have done such a great job with the property in such a short period of time. It reflects your positive energy. Keep up the good work and best wishes for all your future endeavors. We hope to cross paths with you again.

Until on the road again,

Jim and Pamala
